“The T32R is a lovely thing to look at and listen to, and is capable of making radio sound better than many would believe possible. FM quality is almost shockingly good, with a clarity that occasionally startles; but, more generally, there's a sense of natural tonality, balance and texture that draws you into the programme material, whether it's music or spoken word. All musical genres are handled with equal insight and grace, and even when reception is weak, it's still great to listen to. The McLaren is simply too couth to let interference make rude noises..." digital home - August 2003
“As the price tag suggests this thing really is state-of-the-art: it uses straight line technology to simplify signal paths for a cleaner sound, the power supply is completely shielded to prevent electronic noise from disturbing the radio signal and processing electronics and the software is fully upgradable. Physically it is without doubt a thing of utilitarian beauty - a bit like a silver Merc or BMW. One of the world’s most expensive tuners, but also one of the very best.” T3 The Ultimate Hi-Fi - November 2002 The T32R represents the highest performance standards in the current digital radio market and has been adopted by more than one broadcaster as a reference... In short this is an amazing piece of kit... What Hi-Fi? The Ultimate Guide 2002
"This is a very strong group representing much that's best about current FM and DAB reception practise. At the pinnacle, with little question, must be the TAG McLaren's lovely T32R. "This tuner is more of a Mercedes S-class or top-of-the-range Jaguar - full of technology but all of it very much at the service of the owner's comfort. Build quality is impeccable, with a heavy front panel, solid machined tuning knob, damped chassis panels and beautiful internal layout... "It really would be a shame if this tuner didn't sound good - but don't worry, it does. On FM it is pretty much equal of any around, with impeccable tonal balance and clarity... "DAB reception is less obviously in the front of the pack: the differences between this and other tuners are frankly small. Nevertheless, there is still a confidence and polish to the sound, at best, which doesn't ameliorate DAB's ills but does capitalise on its strengths. TAG has gone to some lengths to make the most of the DAB data stream in terms of jitter reduction and so forth, and it does shows."
Hi-Fi Choice - August 2002 T32R wins Hi-Fi News Award 2001
Even now, if not a 'value for money' winner, it can claim to be the best around." Hi-Fi News - January 2002 "It looks lovely, does everything,
and would be fun to live with long term."
"Possibly the best radio in the world, the T32R represents the highest performance standards in the current digital radio market and has been adopted by more than one broadcaster as a reference. "In short this is an amazing piece
of kit..."
"The TAG's huge range of features, from multi-room capability to upgradeability makes it a better long- term proposition than the Arcam and it has the edge in terms of sound quality. "Excellent build quality, lots of
features, excellent sound."
"[in DAB]..the TAG had a little more warmth and body through the midband, and a better disciplined top end...In long term listening tests, the T32R certainly provided an easier-on-the-ear experience. "Turning to analogue FM, the T32R showed that first-class performance is still an option from those traditional broadcasts."Hi-Fi News & Record Review - July 2000
"Certainly we know of no other hi-fi tuner combining this level of performance 'on every band' with such a user-friendly interface, or so comprehensive a range of facilities. Small wonder that the T32R is finding itself a role in broadcast monitoring. "The T32R not only has a powerful sense of impact and dynamics, but also a feeling of complete assurance and confidence. On any terms this is a striking piece of equipment...."What Hi-fi? - June 2000
